The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized a spectacular evening "Rantagarbha 2020" on occasion of the International Women's Day on 8th March, 2020 at the The Hyatt Regency Kolkata.
The Bengal Chamber "Ratnagarbha" salutes women and pays tribute for their mammoth job of endurance, struggle, elegance and beauty. A mother is the most influential educator of our lives, they impart timeless wisdom which stimulates the full potential of their child. The evening was dedicated to pay tribute to those women who have raised and nurtured the rare jewels of our nation. The Bengal Chamber this year created a platform to felicitate the Mothers of our Jewels from the sector of Sports, Business, Literature, Music, Films. The BCC&I Lifetime Achievement was also conferred this year.
Mr. B.B. Chatterjee, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his welcome address set the tone of the evening by welcoming everyone to the grand evening. He pointed out the exceptional contribution of a women in the family is unfathomable and unquantifiable, thus this evening was all about celebrating these personalities and living the memories of the role that a women plays as a Mother.
The evening commenced with the felicitation of Mrs. Reba Mookerjee, mother of Mr. Saradindu Mukherjee, Eminent Cricketer. It was further followed by the felicitation of Smt. Sandhya Mukherjeestrong>, mother of the celebrated designer Mr. Sabyasachi Mukherjee from the Business Category; Smt. Srila Bandyopadhyay, mother of widely acclaimed and eminent poet Shri Srijato Bandyopadhyay from the Literature category, Smt. Chitra Chakrabarty, mother of Smt. Jayati Chakraborty in the Music Category.
Another Ratnagarbha awardee of the evening was Smt. Rehana Masud, mother of Smt. Jaya Ahsan, from the Films Category. This year the Lifetime achievement award was presented to Shri Arup Raha, Former Air Chief Marshal, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC for his exemplary contribution and remarkable journey as the Air Chief Marshal of the Indian Air Force.
The scintillating evening was also made more special by a euphonious performance by National Award winning singer Smt. Iman Chakraborty and her team.
