On Thursday, 26th December & Friday, 27th December, 2019, the WEBEL-BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre organized the Evaluation Session of Ideathon 2 - a mega competition to identify its second batch of suitable incubates for The WEBEL-BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre, which is a joint initiative of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Webel Technology Limited supported by Bandhan Bank and in association with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Crow's Nest, AWS, Google Cloud and Digital Ocean.

In these sessions, participants were asked to present their concepts/ideas before the panel of the jury members. The participants shared their objectives and also highlighted the financial projections required to convert their concepts/ideas into successful business ventures. The panel consisted Mr. S. Radhakrishnan, Managing Partner and Chairman, Imperium Energy and Utility Services LLP, Mr. Debasis Basu, Former Vice President - Projects, Cognizant Technology Solutions India Limited, Mr. Subho Samanta, Founder, Diracsol Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mr. R.N. Lahiri, Director, Batanagar Institute of Engineering, Management and Science (Batanagar Education and Research Trust) and Mr. Kalyan Kar, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Inqube Innoventures Pvt. Ltd.

A total of 20 ideas were shortlisted and called for the Evaluation Sessions. Aspiring Entrepreneurs participated in these 2-day vent representing the various states of Eastern India which includes West Bengal, Bihar & Jharkhand.

The concepts/ideas were assessed on various parameters like Relevance and Usability, Innovation and Technology, Impact, Scalability, Affordable, Usability/Applicability and Financial Implications. The Incubation will not only provide Co-working setup but the key feature would be Mentorship by Chamber's Senior Members and Stakeholders. Eligible startups shall also get funding connects through this platform.

The Centre is at WEBEL Bhavan Premises, Block: EP & GP, Sector V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata. The Announcement of Selected Participants for Incubation opportunity shall take place on Friday, 10th January 2020.
