The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with the Department of Technical Education, Training and Skill Development, Government of West Bengal organized an Interactive Session with the HR Heads of the Industry on "The Need of Recruit - Train - Deployment (RTD) Model in Skill Training".
The Interactive Meet was addressed by Shri Anoop Agarwal, Principal Secretary, DTET &SD, Government of West Bengal, Shri Randhir Kumar, IAS, Project Director, PBSSD, Government of West Bengal, Mr. Prashant Sinha, Nation Level Industry Expert on Skill, Mr. Shubhayu Basu, State Project Manager - Industry, PBSSD, Dept. of Technical Training & Skill Development, Govt. of West Bengal was the Moderator of the Session.
A formal Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Vice Chairperson-Skill Development Committee, Director, Global Operations, Techno India Group Founder and Curator-in-Chief, Offbeat CCU, placed the welcome address on behalf the Bengal Chamber. He addressed on the need of 'Dynamic and demand-based system Recruitment - Training and Deployment Planning' in order to achieve an effective and efficient skill ecosystem.
The session then was addressed by Shri. Anoop Agrawal, IAS, Principal Secretary, DTET&SD, Government of West Bengal who wanted to gather Industry Feedback on the implementation of RTD Model and also spoke on the necessity for quick reorganization of the skill development ecosystem with a proper skilled manpower and proper employment. He also mentioned that there should be an effort towards a committed mechanism to achieve its placement linked training, engaging with employers and helping them in fulfilling their skill requirements and human resource requirements along with its training partners. In his articulate speech Shri Anoop Agrawal, IAS, Principal Secretary, DTET&SD, Government of West Bengal welcomed suggestions from The Chamber and Human Resource representatives from the Industry. In his words the main motto of the Government to create industry ready workforce and placed them in right organization was highlighted.
The session was then taken forward by Mr. Shubhayu Basu, State Project Manager-Industry, PBSSD, Dept. of Technical Training & Skill Development, Govt. of West Bengal, who conducted the Industry Interaction. A round of introduction of the participating human resource fraternity from various organization like Exide Industries Ltd, IBM Ltd, TCS Ltd, ITC Infotech, Hotel DeSovarani, Wow Momo, Eureka Forbes, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd, Infinity Group, Metro Cash and Carry, CESE Limited, Emami Group, O2 Spa and Saloon, India Power Corporation Ltd, The Bridgette Jones Salon, Wipro ltd, VLCC Healthcare Limited, Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd, S & IB Services Private Limited were introduced and was interacted one by one. There is always demand of skill manpower in the industry and industry hire consultancies for getting proper manpower which is highly cost effective. Followed by that Mr. Prashant Sinha gave a presentation on the RTD Model and how a Chamber of Commerce and Industry like The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry can play a significant role.
The session was well attended by more than 45 HR Heads and ended with a well-coordinated interactive session between Government and Industry.
