The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with the MSME Development Institute, Government of India, organized a "Virtual Training Session on MSME Schemes and Policies: Your Roadmap to become Self-Reliant - an Atmanirbhar Bharat in the making" on 8th September, 2020 from 3 PM on WEBEX platform.
Mr. K.D. Bhattacharya, Director I/C, MSME-DI, Mr. Debabrata Mitra, Deputy Director, G&C, MSME-DI and Mr. T.B. Chatterjee, Chairperson, Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber deliberated on and discussed the existing MSME schemes and policies, the declarations made under Atmanirbhar Bharat and export policies and opportunities for MSMEs.
The Opening Remarks and Welcome Address were provided by Mr. Debkumar Basu, Chairperson, Manufacturing & MSME Committee, The BCC&I and the session was moderated by Mr. Bimal Sarkar, Senior Member, Manufacturing & MSME Committee, The BCC&I.
More than 150 MSMEs of West Bengal participated in the training session. Other participants included entrepreneurs who wish to register as MSMEs, Startups and large corporate houses looking forward to add new MSMEs as vendors.
The programme helped participants get an overview of all relevant schemes, identify how they could benefit from these and procedures to access the same. The participants were made aware of the various Central Government schemes for MSMEs on:
▪ Credit and Financial Assistance to MSMEs
▪ Skill Development and Training
▪ Infrastructure Development
▪ Marketing Assistance
▪ Technology upgradation & Competitiveness
▪ Export
The session also provided a platform to MSMEs to share their experience towards accessing the schemes and policies, shared their feedback on the same and discussed & deliberated on issues faced by the MSMEs.
