The Bengal Chamber of commerce & Industry (BCC&I) in association with The Norway Consulate, Kolkata organized an Interactive Session on "Clean Energy Solution for Marine Applications". Mr. Brent Perry, Chief Executive Officer of Sterling PBES, Norway, an Internationally acclaimed expert on Clean Energy Solution for Marine Applications, Mr. Sanjay Jadhav, Chief Executive Officer, Sterling & Wilson and Mr. Edward Carney, Global Director - Business Solutions, Sterling PBES (SPBES) were the participating expert Speakers.
The objective of the session was to create awareness amongst the maritime fraternity on the Applications and Benefits in the use of Marine Batteries in the Propulsion of Electric and Hybrid Ferries and Barges.
Capt S B Mazumder, Chairperson, Shipping Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry presided the session. The programme was an eye-opener to the audience present as it has helped them to have a clear understanding on Marine batteries and how it will contribute in further developments and growth of the maritime industry in the near future. The number of delegates present in the programme were 100 approx and it comprised of mainly barge operators, ship builders, ship owners, barge owners, etc.
