Medica Superspecialty Hospital, in association with The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the third edition of Health Tech on 21st (Friday) and 22nd February 2020 (Saturday) at the Vivanta, Kolkata.
This year, the Theme of the Summit was "Making Health Healthier with Technology".
The two days Summit that followed had a different focus each.
The first day (21st February 2020) featured:

▪ Changing landscape of the Healthcare driven by Technology - Role of Doctors.
▪ Future Leaders - showcasing Startups in Health Tech (with Demonstrations).
▪ Financial Aspect: where is the Money?
▪ Technology enabling insurance to make Healthcare affordable.
▪ New age technologies transforming Pharmaceutical Industry.
The second Day, 22nd February 2020 featured:
▪ How technology will transform Healthcare in India.
▪ How new tech will disrupt the doctor-Patient dynamics.
▪ Case studies for Emerging Technologies in Healthcare Delivery.
21st February 2020 :
The Opening Session commenced with the Welcome Address by Dr. Alok Roy, Former President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals. Mr. B B Chatterjee, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered the Opening Remarks. Mr. Arnab Basu, Chairperson, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber and Managing Partner, East; Technology Consulting Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers Private Limited set the agenda of the Summit. Dr. Rana Mehta, Partner and Healthcare Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd delivered the Keynote Address on "Changing Landscape of Healthcare driven by technology - Role of Doctors". Dr. Rabin Chakraborty, Senior Vice Chairman and Director, Medica Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Chairperson, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered the Special Address on "Leadless Pacemaker: A New Technology of Slow Heart Rhythm Therapy".
The Knowledge Paper on "A technology boost for achieving universal health protection", drafted by Pricewaterhouse Coopers Private Limited as the Knowledge Partner; was released during the Opening Session.
The programme featured a Panel Discussion on Technology enabling Insurance to make Healthcare affordable, graced by Mr. Joydeep K Roy, Partner and Global Leader - Insurance Digital Assets, Leader Insurance Practice, India, PwC; Mr. Sayantan Chatterjee, Director, PwC and Member, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber; Dr. Saumitra Bharadwaj, President, Medica Hospitals Private Limited and Group Head: Processes, Tariff, Billing, Credit Control, IT and Revenue Head, Medica Superspecialty Hospital,Kolkata; Dr Prabir Mukerjee, GM-East, Medical, Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd.; Mr B K Nayak, DGM, National Insurance Corporation; Mr. Rajeev Menon, Senior Director, Healthcare Consulting, Cognizant Technology Solutions and Mr. Bhaswata Sinharoy, General Manager and Country Delivery Head - Continental Europe, Wipro Limited. The Session was moderated by Mr. Tamal Bandyopadhyay, Consulting Editor, Business Standard & Senior Advisor, Jana Bank, Mentor, Finance and Banking Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The programme included a Panel Discussion on "New Age Technologies Transforming Pharmaceutical Industry" which was moderated by Dr. Rabin Chakraborty, Senior Vice Chairman and Director, Medica Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Chairperson, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The esteemed Panelists were: Dr. P K Sethy, Director, Medica Institute of Gastroenterology; Mr Vinay Kaul, Director, Medtronic and Mr. Pratim Majumdar, Sales Manager, Abbott. Dr. Sethy shared his perspectives on "What is new in GI Endoscopy?". Mr Kaul deliberated his speech on "Transforming Health care through meaningful Innovations". Mr. Majumdar addressed on "New Medical Device Technologies in Cardiac Disease Management".
The Start Ups Session themed "Future Leaders - Showcasing Start Ups in Health Tech" was moderated by Mr. Deepak Daftari, Director & CEO, DD Web Vision Pvt Ltd and Chairperson, The Entrepreneurs, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Panelists included Mr. Partha Pratim Das Mahapatra, Founder and CEO, EzeRx Health Tech Pvt. Ltd. and Incubatee, Webel-BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre; Mr. Rohan Tripathi, Founding Director, Inovocare Healthsoft Solutions and Team Electrodes Mr. Tanmoy Munshi; Mr. Soumashis Das; Mr. Indranil Jana; Mr. Soumendu Biswas, Students of Narula Institute of Technology, Agarpara and Winner, Bengalathon. Mr. Partha Pratim Das Mahapatra delivered his presentation on his product - "Non-invasive non-contact portable device for measuring haemoglobin, bilirubin and oxygen saturation" including the live demonstration. Mr. Rohan Tripathi showcased on "MedPer: A system for personalized medicinal adherence assistance". Team Electrode delivered the Presentation on "EOG Control Wheelchair for Quadriplegics Patient" including the live demonstration.
The forum included Dr. Alok Roy, Former President, The Bengal Chamber and Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals in conversation with Mr. Ashwin Srivastava, Co-Founder and Director, Ideain Ventures (Global VC) during the Session on "Where is the Money?" Mr. Deepak Daftari, Director & CEO, DD Web Vision Pvt Ltd and Chairperson, The Entrepreneurs, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry moderated the session as well.
The Evening Session: "Health Talks" was commenced with formal Welcome Address by Dr. Alok Roy, Former President, The Bengal Chamber and Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals. Dr. Vikash Kapoor, Vice Chairman, Medica Superspeciality Hospital , Group Director Orthopedics, Medica Hospitals shared his perspectives on "Technology in Orthopedics - The conundrum of Hope and Hype". The Session on "Impact of Technology in Healthcare Industry" was graced by Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Senior Vice Chairman and Director Medica Institute of Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery; Mr. Raghuram Janapareddy, Director - Life sciences & Healthcare, NASSCOM Center of Excellence; Dr. Vikash Kapoor, Vice Chairman, Medica Superspeciality Hospital, Group Director Orthopedics, Medica Hospitals and Dr. Saumitra Bharadwaj, President, Medica Hospitals Private Limited and Group Head: Processes, Tariff, Billing, Credit Control, IT and Revenue Head, Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Kolkata.
The Session was followed by the Reception.
The First Day of the Health Tech also included an Interactive Session, organized for The Incubatees of BCC&I-WEBEL Tech Incubation Centre with Mr. Ashwin Srivastava, Co-Founder and Director, Ideain Ventures (Global VC).

Dr. Rabin Chakraborty, Senior Vice Chairman and Director, Medica Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Chairperson, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber delivered the Opening Remarks. Theme Address on "How Technology will transform Healthcare in India" was deliberated by Dr. Jitendar Sharma, Founder- AMTZ and Kalam Institute, Distinguished Senior Fellow-Niti Aayog. Dr. Michael Feiner, Consul General of Federal Republic of Germany, Kolkata graced the Session sharing his perspectives on "Opportunities in Tuttlingen and other parts of Germany for Health Technology".
The Panel Discussion on "How New Tech will Disrupt Patient - Doctors - Dynamics" was moderated by Mr. Pratik Banerjee, Director - Business Development & Alliances, Protiviti India & Member, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Panelists included Dr. Alok Roy, Former President, The Bengal Chamber and Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals; Mr. Avik Ghose, Senior Scientist, TCS Research & Innovation, TATA Consultancy Services and Mr. Abhishek Ghosh, Director and Co-Founder, MediSage.
Dr. Arundhati Chakraborty, Senior Oncologist moderated the Session on "Emerging Technologies in Healthcare Delivery-Case Studies" and the Panelists : Dr. Rabin Chakraborty, Senior Vice Chairman and Director, Medica Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Chairperson, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber shared his perspectives on Management of Heart Failure with Emerging Technologies; Dr. Dilip Kumar, Senior Cardiologist, Medica Hospitals deliberated his speech on
"Newer Technologies in Interventional Cardiology"; Dr. Tapti Sen, Director, Medica Institute of Breast Diseases addressed on Conservation Surgery in Breast Cancer and Dr. L N Tripathy, Director, Medica Institute of Neurological Diseases delivered his presentation on "High Tech Neurosurgery - Where do we stand?"
