Seminar on Contentious Issues related to GST, Recent Notification & Circulars, 15th February, 2019, Chamber Premises.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry had organized a Seminar on Contentious Issues related to GST, Recent Notifications & Circulars on 15th February, 2019 in the Chamber premises. Welcome address was given by Mr. T. B. Chatterjee, Chairperson - Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Senior Partner & Mentor, Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP. Shri Pandiyaraj G.V., Asst Commissioner of CGST & CX {South), delivered a special address on the recent notifications and issues related to GST, whom and how to reach out to the GST Department. The Chairperson then deliberated on the support from The Finance Ministry & Commerce Ministry on Contentious Issues and the High Court Judgements of certain cases under GST. The next Technical Session was addressed by Mr. Vivek Jalan, Co- Chairperson - Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Partner, Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP on the analysis of Recent Notifications, Circulars under GST in the lines of the GST Council's meetings held on 22nd December 2018 and 10th January 2019. Technical Session on Contentious Issues in GST, GST Audit, GST Refund and Customs was addressed Mr. Pulak Saha, Co - Chairperson - Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Partner - Indirect Taxes, Price Waterhouse & Co LLP. Mr. M S Mani, Partner - GST, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Private Limited deliberated on AARs & AAARs under GST. Mr. Rajib Sankar Sengupta, Joint Commissioner of Revenue & State Tax and Smt. Debadatta Bhattacharjee, Assistant Commissioner of Revenue & State Tax from Government of West Bengal Commercial Taxes Department, shared the Departmental perspectives on the Recent Developments & Issues under GST. The deliberations after each technical session were followed by an interactive session with the participants. The Seminar was attended by more than 70 delegates.
