10th Edition of the Business IT Conclave (BITC), 20th June, 2019, Hyatt Regency, Kolkata.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the 10th Edition of the Business IT Conclave {BITC) on 20th June 2019 in Hyatt Regency, Kolkata.

The theme for this year was "Synergy with Disruptive Innovations". Disruptive Innovations have reshaped the landscape of society, business and consumer behaviour. This year, BITC had aimed to sketch the transformations led by disruptive innovations from both the technology providers and users.

Mr. Indrajit Sen , President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Managing Director, International Combustion {India) Limited commenced the Opening Session with formal Welcome Address. The Opening Session included Mr. Arnab Basu , Chairperson, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Managing Partner - East; Technology Consulting Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd delivering the Theme Address. Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta , Former President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Senior Partner, Intueri Consulting LLP made Special Remarks on "Neo Trade Unionism in Digital World". Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti , Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur addressed on "Synergy of Disruptions and Traditional Learning".

The Opening Session featured a Special Announcement: Signing of MoU between The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Infinity Group for collaborations to boost IT and Start Ups , exchanged between Mr. S Radhakrishnan , Director, Infinity Group and Former President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mr. Subhodip Ghosh , Director General, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Conclave showcased Lead Session on Quantum Computing (What it can do? What it cannot do? How far away are we from full commercialization) & Transformed AI, ML and Neural Network in the age of QC . The Session included Dr. Manas Mukherjee , Principal Investigator,The Centre for Quantum Technologies {CQT), National University of Singapore and Mr. Sandeep J Alur , Director - Partner Engagements {ISV), One Commercial Partner {OCP), Microsoft Corporation {India) Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Alur shared his perspective on Artificial Intelligence - Driven by Innovation in Computing. The Session was moderated by Mr Pratik Banerjee , Member, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Director - Business Development & Alliances, Protiviti India Middle-East Member Firm.

The programme featured Discussion Forum on Disruptive Innovations as game changers , chaired by Mr. Sanjoy Sen , Co-Chairperson, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Senior Vice President, ITC Infotech India Limited. The panellists included Mr. Suresh Mishra , Wizertech Informatics Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Harshad Satam, Business Development, Amazon Internet Services Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Samik Nandi , Portfolio Development Leader for Process Industries, Siemens Industry Software. Mr. Satam addressed on Disruption fueled by Cloud. Mr. Samik Nandi shared his perspectives on Realizing Disruption.

Mr. Chiranjib Bhattacharya , Member, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Chief Executive Officer, Wizertech Informatics Pvt. Ltd chaired the Session on Businesses Then and Now - Transformation in functionalities led by disruptive innovations . The Panelists were Mr. Sandip Pradhan, Chief - IT- Exide Industries Ltd; Mr. Sanjay Prasad , CIO, CESC Power Group; Mr. Vivek Belgavi - Partner & FinTech Leader, PwC India and Dr Malay R Dave , Principal- JISCE, JIS Group.

The Post Lunch Session focused on Markets.

Discussion Forum on Connected Asian Market taking the lead of delivering next wave of technological breakthroughs was chaired by Mr. Deb A Mukherjee , Senior Vice President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The session was joined by the Panellists- Mr. Takashi Suzuki , Director General, Japan External Trade Organization {JETRO), Bengaluru and Mr. Shaerul Haque Joarder, Vice President- IT and Country Head, Epic Group, Bangladesh. The objective of the session was to bring together the diverse economies of Asia and discuss the convergence and potentiality of such connect market.

The Conclave featured a special session - "Japan Session- Collaborations with Japan with special focus on Start Ups" . The Session had been designed in the context of "Japan-India Startup Hub", which was established by the agreements of the Governments and activities of JETRO. Now Japanese companies have a strong interest about Indian Market and startups. Mr. Subho Samanta, Mentor, Webel-BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre; Former Co-Chairperson, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Founder, Diracsol Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. chaired the Session. The session was taken forward by Mr. Yutaka Endow , Director, Japan-India Startup Hub, Japan External Trade Organization {JETRO), Bengaluru where he discussed the role and activities of Japan-India Startup Hub. Mr. Hidemi Kuwahara, Deputy General Manager, Sojitz India Private Limited was also present in this forum where he discussed about India as an Innovation hub from the viewpoint of Japanese corporate. The session concluded with Mr. Satoshi Nataga, Executive Supervisor, SAgri Co. Limited discussing about the reasons for Japanese startup to expand into Indian market.

At the end of "Japan Session", various startups had the opportunity to interact directly with the Japanese Delegation where they presented their ideas and business ventures. Shortlisted Incubates of BCC&I-WEBEL Tech Incubation Centre were also present in this Interactive Session and they also shared their startup aspirations with the delegates.
