evening session of the works of acclaimed photographer, Dhritiman Mukherjee at The Williamson Magor
Hall on 3rd July, 2019.
Mr. Subhodip Ghosh, Director General, The Bengal Chamber gave a formal introduction of the

programme was laid down by Shri Arindam Sil, Chairman, Media, Music and Film Forum of the Chamber.
A picture is a time frozen for eternity and every photograph holds a story and as the
photographer's main focus is to capture it in its natural settings. As part of its commitment to
highlight photography as a conservation tool, Society for Heritage & Ecological Researches (SHER)
believes that "no photograph is ever worth sacrificing the well-being of the subject", stated
Joydip Kundu.
Many of his photographs include those on the endangered list like Ladakh Snow Leopard, Narkondam
Hornbill of the Anadamans and Nicobar islands, Olive Ridley Turtles of Odisha, Green Anaconda of
Brazil, Gorillas of Congo, Whale sharks of Coastal areas of Mexico to name a few. Mr.
Dhritiman Mukherjee who believes nature photography is far beyond taking pictures but retaining the
authenticity and understanding its preservation is more important. Through his stories and ethics
which he shared with us took us to a very engaging and educative session about Nature and Wild Life
which is of much concern with so many threats
surrounding it. Many among us have a temporary tryst with
nature an do not put a thought about the need for conservation and Mr. Mukherjee's life has been a
very inspiring example of sharing the beauties and bounties of our natural gifts, with sensitivity
and care and to draw our attention to the fact that human life and natural flora and animal life
need to co-exist in harmony. Having covered 38 countries in 20 years, we all look forward to
valuable insights from him.
A hugely respected & spontaneous in nature photographer in India today, Mr. Dhritiman Mukherjee is
known for his humble personality and is admired for his dedication, perseverance and hard work in
the field of wildlife photography. He has been primarily working on rare, endangered and
challenging subjects all over the globe. He has traveled and photographed most of the national
parks and bio-zones in India. He has also covered some of the major international wildlife
destinations. As a Round Glass Ambassador he keeps travelling 280+ days a year. His photographs has

UNESCO, The Guardian, Bird life International etc. to name a few. He has been decorated with many
national and international awards and accolades for his images. The Carl Zeiss Conservation Award
