‘An Insight into Funding for Startups & MSMEs’, 1st July, 2019, Hotel De Sovrani, Kolkata.

The Entrepreneur's Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized 'An Insight into Funding for Startups & MSMEs' at Hotel De Sovrani, Saltlake, Kolkata on 1st July, 2019. The objective of the meet was to give an insight to different ways of generating funds for Start-ups & MSMEs. The session was attended by Entrepreneurs of different sectors, where few of them were yet to start their venture & others wanted to expand.

Speaker at this event was:

Mr. Deepak Daftari, CEO and Director of eSiksha.com & DD Web Vision Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Daftari explained various sources of funding where the first source of funding is Friends & Family, where on personal relation or faith one is generating fund. The other sources were Seed Money which is a form of securities offering in which an investor invests capital in a start-up company in exchange for an equity stake in the company, SME Exchange which is a stock exchange dedicated for trading the shares of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) who, otherwise, find it difficult to get listed in the main exchanges, Angel Investor which is an affluent individual who provides capital for a business start-up, usually in exchange for convertible debt or ownership equity. Angel investors usually give support to start-ups at the initial moments and when most investors are not prepared to back them and Venture Capitalist (VC) which is a type of private equity, a form of financing that is provided by firms or funds to small, early-stage, emerging firms that are deemed to have high growth potential, or which have demonstrated high growth. Apart from these there are also funding authorities available at both State & Central Government.

He also explained that business success mostly depends on EXECUTION other than Idea and Funding. A better execution always brings success even with limited funds.

At the end he gave some idea on presenting the Business plans in front of the Investors like every idea should be brief and concise, unique and distinctive.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue arranging this Entrepreneur's Networking Business Breakfast Meet frequently for betterment of entrepreneurs across India.
