Round Table Discussion on “Sustainabilty as Strategy in Business”, 8th May, 2019, Chamber Premises.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with TERI Council for Business Sustainability organized a Round Table Discussion on "Sustainability as Strategy in Business.

The Discussion focused on how Sustainability may be brought in the mainstream of business strategy across various sectors.

The discussion was driven by Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, Senior Vice President & Chairperson, Energy and Environment Energy Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr Arupendra Nath Mullick, Vice-President, TERI Council for Business Sustainability along with Mr. Anand Upadhyay Fellow, Renewable Energy Technology Division, from The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) gave us an insight through their presentation on how sustainability can be intrinsic part of the business strategy.

Exide and CESC briefly shared their experience and insights on sustainability.

Mr. Aloke Mookherjea, Former President, The Bengal Chamber, Mr. A Lahiri, Former President, The Bengal Chamber, Mr. S. Radhakrishnan, Former President, The Bengal Chamber, Mr. Arun Kumar Mukherjee, Chairperson Emeritus, Energy and Environment Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce, Mr. P S Bhattacharyya, Former Chairman, Coal India Limited and Chairperson, Minerals and Mining, The Bengal Chamber participated and voiced their opinion and concerns about the subject in the discussion. Ms.Nayantara Pal Choudhury, Hony. Consul, Royal Norwegian Consulate also graced the session.

Stakeholders from Industry such as India Power Corporation Limited, Karam Chand Thapar & Bros (Coal Sales) Limited, KPMG Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd, Thermax Limited, Intach, Protiviti India Middle-East Member Firm, Indian Tea Association, Intueri, ITP India Ltd, Swach Environment Limited (SREI Group) and others attended the session.
