On 10th, 11th and 13th June 2019, WEBEL-BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre organized the Interview and Evaluation process where we invited 29 promising candidates shortlisted from "Ideathon" - a mega competition to identify suitable incubates for our Incubation programme organized by The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I} and West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation (WEBEL} which is supported by Bandhan Bank in association with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Crow's Nest.

In these sessions, candidates were asked to present their ideas before the panel of the jury members and mentors. The candidates shared their objectives and also the projections needed to convert their ideas into successful business ventures. The panel consisted Mr. S. Radhakrishnan, Managing Partner and Chairman, Imperium Energy and Utility Services LLP, Mr. Debasis Basu, Former Vice President - Projects, Cognizant Technology Solutions India Limited, Mr. Subho Samanta, Founder, Diracsol Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mr. R.N. Lahiri, Director, Batanagar Institute of Engineering, Management and Science (Batanagar Education and Research Trust) and Mr. Kalyan Kar, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Inqube Innoventures Pvt Ltd.

After 3 days of intense screening process, the jury board selected 9 candidates to be incubated at the Centre. The names of the candidates or ventures are EzeRx Health Tech, lOkarma, Fashkuut Pvt Ltd, Arijit Das, Ratq Science and Tech, Newday HR Solution, Vibrotactile Computer Display Unit, Paving Plus and Scimata Consulting. Some of them are in the prototyping stage whereas some are already generating revenue from the market but need further mentoring. The Incubation Centre will provide co-working space to the Incubates for 6 months after an initial review of 3 months. Further extension beyond six months will be provided based on merit of each case. During this period they will be included in the Chamber's network of members and stakeholders. The Incubates will be able to join the networking forums, seminars, workshops of the Chamber. The chamber will provide mentorship in the domain knowledge and also in ancillary areas like Taxation, Legal & IPR and others.
