Interactive Session on Clean Energy and Transport Choices and their effects on Air Quality”, 1st March, 2019, Chamber Premises.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industryorganized an interaction with Mr. Andrew Stokes, Energy Systems Catapult, Birmingham, UK and Mr. Tom Reade, Principal Air Quality Consultant, Hilson Moran.

Catapult centres are a network of world leading centres designed to transform the UK's capability for innovation in specific areas.

The interaction focused on "Clean Energy and Transport Choices and their effects on Air Quality".

The discussion was driven by Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, Senior Vice President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Arun Kumar Mukherjee, Chairperson Emeritus, Energy and Environment Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mr. Aloke Mookherjea, President, The Bengal Chamber.

Stakeholder from Industry such as India Power Corporation Limited, Karam Chand Thapar & Bros (Coal Sales) Limited, KPMG Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd, West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Soil & Enviro Industries Pvt Ltd, Thermax Limited, Exide Industries Limited, WBHIDCO, India Power Corporation Ltd, The British Deputy High Commission, Development Consultants P Ltd and others.

The three major areas in which Catapult offers assistance are Energy Systems, Future Cities and Transport Systems.

Catapult wants to work with the Indian stakeholders to create decision making tools that influence choices in energy and transport to improve urban air quality and improve the local ecosystem for innovation.
