The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association
with the U.S. Commercial Service in Kolkata, hosted the Trade Winds Business Delegation and
organized an Interactive Session with the Delegation on 9th May 2019 in The Bengal Chamber
premises.
Trade Winds was the largest annual U.S. Government-led trade mission, that was headed to India in
2019 in its 11th edition to discover business opportunities in the Indo-Pacific Region. The
delegates participated in the Indo Pacific Business Forum in New Delhi from 6th to 8th May 2019 and
then spin off to other cities.
The programme featured two sessions:
→ Morning Session:
The Morning Session included dedicated B2B meetings with the following five U.S Companies:
• Anvil Attachments (Manufacturer of clamshell buckets and grapples for material handling).
• Michigan State University (Higher education, executive education and training provider).
• Filtroil Inc. (Industrial filtration including by-pass fine filtration for all industrial oils
and fuel).
• Earth Networks (Provides real-time resolution and maximum reliability to observe, inform, and
alert the public, businesses, and government agencies to
impending weather hazards).
• Vaksea Inc. {Immune boosting proteins to protect
livestock raised in aquaculture).
→ Evening Session:
The Evening Session was graced by Ms. Patricia Hoffman, Consul General, United States Consulate in
Kolkata as our Guest of Honour, along with Ms. Anastasia Mukherjee, Senior International Trade
Specialist-Certified Global Business Professional, U.S. Commercial Service, South Carolina. Mr.
Deb A Mukherjee, Senior Vice President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mr.
Subhodip Ghosh, Director General, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The session also
included presentations by the aforementioned five U.S Companies.
Ms. Patricia Hoffman addressed on Trade Winds Business Delegation and Bilateral Business
relationship between the
United States and India. She mentioned that it was a very special week for the US-India Bilateral
Trade Relationship. US Ambassador Mr. Kenneth I Juster, in the month of June, will
lead a delegation of Indian Business leaders, interested in investing in US to participate in
'SelectUSA Investment Summit'.
Ms. Anastasia Mukherjee shared the overview on Trade Winds Business Delegation. She stated that the
Trade Winds Indo pacific featured a three days business forum in New Delhi, India, Ahmedabad,
Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangladesh. At each mission destination, attending
companies met directly with the Government Leaders; market experts and potential business partners.
The participation and the interaction with the Delegate Members indicated a great interest of
businesses on both
sides to work together.
