Mr. Datta holds a dual role of Head of Product Management for Generative AI on Amazon SageMaker and Business General Manager for AWS Human-in-Loop (HIL) AI/ML services. As Head of
Product Management for Generative AI on SageMaker,he is pioneering the transformation of SageMaker into the world's best platform for customers to build and operate their Generative
AI applications in the most seamless and cost-effective manner, and is responsible for product strategy, roadmap, GTM and revenue for Generative AI workloads on SageMaker. As Business
GM for AWS HIL, he leads a team of 300+ full time employees (product management, growth and go-to-market, business operations and P&L management, solution architecture, customer
engineering and data operations) helping make Generative AI and bespoke Deep Learning models functional for customers like Krikey AI, Stability, AI21, Workday as well as for
Amazon services like Amazon Q, Amazon Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Amazon Bedrock.
Prior to this he led product management for SageMaker Training, Feature Management and Data Processing services for 2.5 years and spearheading the transformation of SageMaker
from an easy-to-use developer platform to the AI platform of choice for training some of the largest Generative AI models in the world like Bloom GPT, Falcon, AI21 Jurassic
and more in the most cost performance effective manner in the cloud. This helped make SageMaker one of the fastest growing services in AWS history.
He has been with AWS for 5.5 years, spending stints in product management in Amazon S3 and AWS Industry Products before SageMaker. Prior to AWS he held product management,
finance and business operations roles at IBM and before that he held multiple technical and business leadership roles at Intel, Nvidia and Texas Instruments.
He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004 and 2006 respectively and MBA from University of Chicago Booth
School of Business in 2012. In addition to his business experience, he continues to innovate technical solutions with his teams and customers, and he is an inventor
of 24 issued and 3 pending patents on areas ranging from Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Storage to chip design.
