The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry is one of the oldest Chamber of Commerce & Industry authorized by the Director General of Foreign Trade, Government of India, to issues Certificate of Origin (Non-Preferential) to both member and non-member companies.

We are also authorized to issue the recommendation letter for getting the commercial visa for visits to overseas countries.

We authenticate/attest various types of commercial documents as well.
We have been providing such services for many decades.

Applications and fees will be received on week days during following hours:

From 10.00 a.m. To 1.00 p.m. & From 1.30 a.m. To 4.30 p.m.

Guidelines for Issuance of Certificate of Origin / Visa Recommendation Letters/ Authentication of Export Documents / Attestation of Commercial Documents:

Issuance of Certificate of Origin non-preferential, attestation for various types of commercial documents and issuance of recommendation letter for commercial visa are carried out on the basis of an Indemnity Bond.
The Bond should be provided on Non-Judicial stamp paper of Rs. 100/- and to be notarized by Rs.5+5 notary stamp along with the following documents:

A) Request letter for registration of the company for Attestation/Authentication of Various Commercial Documents, Issuance of Certificate of Origin, Issuance of Visa Recommendation Letter, addressed to the Director General, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the printed letterhead of the company.

B) Photocopy of IEC/Certificate of Incorporation.

  Stamp paper should be purchased in the name of the Company / Establishment.
  The Bond shall only be signed by the Director / Chairman / Partner/ Proprietor of the Company.

  After having submitted the Bond along with the relevant documents, the company will be registered in the BCC&I records and the exporter shall be given a registration number by the BCC&I.
  On every occasion of submission of application for attestation, Certificate of Origin, the Registration Number with the BCC&I must be mentioned for reference.

Once registered, the following documents are required for issuance of Certificate of Origin non-preferential:

  Covering letter addressed to the Director General, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry, on the printed letterhead of the company (Two Copy).

  Original printed Application for Certificate of Origin form one copy (Blank form is available with the Certificate of Origin Department).
  Original printed Certificate of Origin form with one additional copy (Blank form is available with the Certificate of Origin Department).
  One copy of Invoice / Invoice Cum Packing List.
  One copy of Bill of Lading / Airway Bill.
  One copy of Packing List to the Concerned Invoice.

Once registered, the following documents are required for issuance of Visa Recommendation Letter:

  Covering letter addressed to the Director General, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry, on the printed letterhead of the company.

  Photocopy of the passport of the person applying for the visa.
  Photocopy of the invitation letter (in English language only) received from the country to be visited.

Once registered, the following documents are required for the Authentication of Export Documents / Attestation of various types of Commercial Documents:

  Covering letter addressed to the Director General, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry, detailed mentioning the reason for attestation on the letterhead of the company.
  Necessary documents for the attestation along with one additional copy. Every document should be certified by the authorized person of the company, (the declaration is available with the Certificate of Origin Department).
