The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a Half-Day Seminar on New Way Bill under GST on 20th March 2018 in the Chamber premises. Welcome address was given by Mr. T. B. Chatterjee, Chairperson - Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Senior Partner & Mentor, Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP. Mr. Vivek Jalan, Co-Chairperson - Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Partner, Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP deliberated on Recent Developments on GST. Mr. Arunangshu Mukherjee, Deputy Commissioner, and Mr. Debmalya Banerjee, Deputy Commissioner, Directorate of Commercial Taxes, Government of West Bengal deliberated on differences of the New Way Bills from 1st April 2018 vis-a-vis the Way Bills which went live on 1st February 2018 and relaxations given in the New Way Bills to be live from 1st April 2018. They also demonstrated the workings of the Way Bill portal. It was followed by an interactive session with the participants. The Seminar was attended by more than 75 delegates.
