The Indirect Taxes Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the Annual Certificate Course on Indirect Taxes (including GST, Customs, FTP & FEMA) in February 2018. This was the 5th batch with 15 participants from different sectors. Last 4 batches were held in 2014, 2015 and 2016. There were 6 days of classes, held on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm under the overall guidance of Mr. T. B. Chatterjee, Chairperson - Indirect Taxes committee, BCC&I & Senior Partner, Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP. Other faculty members were Mr. Pulak Saha, Co-Chairperson - Indirect Taxes committee, BCC&I & Partner - Tax & Regulatory Services, Price Waterhouse & Co. LLP; Mr. Vivek Jalan, Partner, Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP; Ms. Shivani Shah, Proprietor, Shivani Shah & Associates; Mr. Chiranjib Das, Former Joint Director, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India; Ms. Anindita Chatterjee, Partner, Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP and Mr. Sandip Routh from Logitax Consultant who are the experts from the industry in taxation matters. This was an extremely relevant training programme for taxation professionals for overall improvement of operational efficiency in their respective organizations. Mostly senior and mid-level executives of different organizations took part in the course.
