The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with SPICMACAY and IIT Kharagpur, for the first time, under the aegis of Media, Music and Films Forum of the Chamber, was honoured to organize a musical evening with the legendary National Award Winning Indian classical flautist, Pandit Shri Hariprasad Chaurasia, on 13th January 2018 in the Chamber premises. SPIC MACAY is a non-political nationwide voluntary movement that organizes programmes of classical music and dance, folk arts, crafts, yoga, classic cinema screenings, heritage walks, etc, throughout the world to make students more aware about Indian and world heritage. This initiative makes education more holistic and meaningful as it highlights all that is abstract, subtle, inspiring and mystical in the world, thus teaching one to look within oneself.

We at the Chamber applaud and encourage any sincere endeavour or project that works to further and preserve all facets of India’s rich culture, art and heritage. We were delighted to be associated with such a vibrant social movement like SPIC MACAY.

The musical evening was attended by over 200 guests, and included a Felicitation of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
