Mr. Gautam Ray

Bengal Chamber Health Tech President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & President - Corporate, RPSG Group.

Mr. Gautam Ray, Fellow of The Institution of Engineers, graduated in Electrical Engineering from Calcutta University (erstwhile Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur, presently IIEST) in 1981 and completed Post Graduation in Electrical Power System, from the same Institute in 1983. Presently, he is President of Corporate - RPSG Group.

Mr. Ray has an experience of close to 40 years of working in Power System operations and load dispatch, before he migrated to HR & Admin. He was instrumental in working on a collaborative project with Singapore Power for improvement in Distribution Sector. He also established AIPM (Asia Institute of Power Management) under CESC, which imparted training and consultancy services for many power utilities of India and neighbouring countries.

He is currently the President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is the Chairman of National Safety Council - West Bengal Chapter, Former President - Calcutta Management Association for 2015-16 and 2016-17,Chairman - (HR & IR Committee) - CII (ER), Member of National HR & IR Committee - CII. Presently he is serving as Vice Chairman of IIEST Alumni Cell and Executive Committee Member and Co-Chairman of Energy Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.




Mr. Arnab Basu

Arnab is a Partner in PwC India, spearheading the firm's Advisory business, including Consulting, Risk and Deals. He brings rich consulting experience in diverse fields like Business Model Reinvention, Business Transformation, Operating Model Design, Performance Management, Removing Complexity, and Defining Digital Strategy Leveraging Enterprise Applications. He sits on PwC's Global Advisory Leadership team and has worked with a range of top tier clients across multiple geographies and industries, including Industrial Manufacturing, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas.

Arnab joined PwC in 2001 post his MBA from IIM Calcutta and specialized in strategy led business transformations using digital platforms and solutions and related Change programs. He is also an Enterprise Apps methodology expert within the global PwC network. Arnab is also responsible for PwC's investments in emerging areas like Climate, Cyber, Gen AI and the corresponding growth strategy and building high performance teams.




Dr. Rupali Basu,

Dr. Rupali Basu is the Managing Director & CEO of Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital. She graduated from RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata and did her post-graduation training in Health and Hospital Management from Harvard, Delhi and Kolkata Universities.

She has played a pioneering role in bringing Quality Systems and Accreditation in Healthcare in India. She chose to work in Kolkata and charted the financial makeover of many healthcare institutions here and is now regarded as a turnaround Specialist in hospitals.

Dr. Basu sits on the Board of Directors several companies, works towards the welfare of the blind persons and is an avid proponent of sarees.




Mr. Rana Dasgupta,

One of the best ways to introduce Mr Rana Dasgupta would be as the quintessential "Go To" person by his friends, colleagues and even strangers, a person who picks up his umpteenth phone call at 2 rings whatever the time of night or day, and is always ready to extend a helping hand.

To highlight his professional achievements, Mr Rana Dasgupta is the Chief Executive Officer, Eastern Region, Apollo Hospitals Group, the premier healthcare provider of the country.

Mr. Dasgupta is a Post Graduate from IHM, Taratala, Kolkata with 40 years of experience in Hospitality and Health sectors. During his career span, Mr. Dasgupta has also worked with Taj Group of Hotels, Woodlands Hospitals, Wockhardt Hospital & Kidney Institute and Specialty Restaurants Group.

Mr. Dasgupta joined Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals in 2008 and was elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer in January 2017.

He has been one of the thought leaders and influencers in the health and hospitality sectors. As one of the Directors of Association of Hospitals in Eastern India (AHEI), an independent, non-statutory body comprising 17 private hospitals of Kolkata (West Bengal), in a primary advisory role, he has partnered with all stakeholders in facilitating better healthcare in regular and emergency situations. He has also played a role in key policy making in the sector. He has recently taken over as the Director of Eastern Chapter of Nat Health and will represent the country's Eastern Region at the National Level. He will be a key player in Nat Health's role in facilitating the shift in mind set, delivery and decision making in all health system stakeholders, not only hospitals.

Under his stewardship, Apollo Hospitals has achieved the following milestones:
▪  Largest Private Healthcare facility in Eastern India with 700 Beds in a single unit;
▪  The first dedicated Gastroenterology facility in Eastern India;
▪  Successful reaccreditation of JCI 7th Edition for the fifth time;

Mr. Sayantan Chatterjee

Mr. Sayantan Chatterjee brings a blend of business and technology knowledge through his varied experience. He has more than seventeen years of professional experience ranging from Management Consulting, Digital Transformation and Project Management across multiple sectors, primary of which is Health industries - spanning across healthcare provider, payer, life sciences, pharmaceutical and medical devices organization across multiple geographies, both in the public and private space.

A trained design thinker, he works closely with the CXO community of Health industries organizations in helping them use Digital as a business lever to improve care delivery and drive operational efficiency. He specializes in leading technology-enabled transformation through Digital Operating Model definition for organizations, employing the concepts of Design Thinking. Through such engagements he has worked with organizations to translate their business vision into operational reality by defining the future state across people, process, technology and governance.

He has keen interest in helping develop products/solutions and use cases deploying emerging technologies of blockchain, AI/ML, IoT, RPA, cloud to solve business problems for clients.

He leads the Health Technology practice for PwC in India working closely with India and other geography Health industries sector leaders in helping scout and deliver Digital advisory projects across the globe. As part of his current role, he is responsible for delivery of transformation projects, client relation management, digital solution development and P&L management.




Mr. Anirban Sen

Anirban Sen joined Linde India in 2006 and was appointed as Head of Healthcare, India in 2021. He has total experience of about 23 years of which 15 years in Healthcare Gases Industry covering Medical gases, equipment's connected with Patient Safety, automation, marketing, business development and strategic account management across India and Asian Countries.

RJ Arvind

RJ Arvind brings a wealth of experience with over two decades in Kolkata's broadcasting scene. Currently serving as a consultant programming editor for Community Radio Centres across India, he holds a significant role in the establishment of Kolkata's pioneering retro station. Beyond the airwaves, Arvind showcases his versatility as a blogger, stage anchor, and podcast host, sharing valuable insights on platforms such as TEDx.

Ms. Nilanjana Maulik

Nilanjana Maulik, is currently the Secretary General of Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Society of India - Calcutta Chapter, Fellow at the Commonwealth Association of Aging and a Master Trainer of Dementia Care Skills from Alzheimer's Disease International, London. She holds a triple Masters holder in Sociology & Social Anthropology from North Bengal University, Management of Human Services from Brandeis University, USA & Dementia Studies from University of Stirling, UK. She also has a specialisation in End of Life Care from Stanford School of Medicine and is an International Master Practitioner of Spark of Life Philosophy from Dementia Care International, Australia.

Nilanjana started her work for people living with Dementia 30 years back. Having been trained in Dementia Care at a Dementia facility in the USA and working for several years there, she returned to India in the year 1999 to start the work in India. Since 1999 she has been building ARDSI Calcutta into what others consider as one of the best support organizations in India. From community awareness campaigns to homecare, daycare & caregiver training along with other relevant services, her goal is to strengthen dementia care in India.

As a National awardee "Best Dementia Care Worker", it is her relentless search to improve the life of persons living with dementia and their families that motivates her being.

I am Mrs. Gitanjali Sen who taught chemistry in FAPS and St. Xavier's in Kolkata and also at St. Paul's in KOTA.

My husband died of Parkinsons' disease in 2018. I studied PD and Geriatric Care Services to care for him. Thus the continuation in interest now that I am alone with my children abroad as well as staying in Jagriti Dham sometimes.

30 years of experience as a cardiac surgeon. 46,000 cardiac surgical procedures.

Chairman of The Mission Hospital, Durgapur, an entrepreneurship endeavour that changed the healthcare ecosystem in Eastern India. This was indeed a major disruption in quaternary health care as a blue ocean strategy, which has been recognised by Harvard Business College and is taught as a case study across many business schools across USA & elsewhere.

Dr. Sudeshna Lahiri

A dedicated clinical administrator in the city for the last two decades. Currently, deputed as the Dy. Medical Director of Ruby General Hospital, I lead the coordination of medical and administrative policies and protocols to ensure ethical protocol driven, quality patient care and staff performance. I have over 26 years of experience in the health care sector, with a focus on clinical administration and accreditation.

I am a certified JCI Clinical Improvement Associate (CIA) and a key contributor to the planning and implementation of NABH accreditation at Ruby General Hospital and AMRI Hospitals, where I previously served as the General Manager of Medical Services. I also act as the media spokesperson and the liaison with the Health Department for the hospital. I am passionate about improving public health, medical education, and patient safety in India. I value ethical practices in healthcare and have always been a forerunner in this aspect. I am a certified Medicolegal expert as well, which value adds to my daily functioning.

Beyond my profession, I am an avid reader, and passionate about poetry. Poetry, elocution and writing are something which keeps me busier even beyond my hospital hours.




Prof. (Dr.) Subhrojyoti Bhowmick

Dr. Subhrojyoti Bhowmick is a medical graduate from Calcutta University with a Gold Medal in Gynecology & Obstetrics. He has completed M.D in Pharmacology from IPGME& R, Kolkata and has over 15 years of experience in the field of Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance and Medication management in Hospitals. He has a Specialist certificate in Medication safety from from International Society of Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) in Ireland, UK. He has completed PG Diploma in Diabetes and Endocrinology from the Royal College of Physicians, UK. He has a certification in Clinical Research Administration & Project Management from Stanford University, USA and in Patient Safety from Johns Hopkins University, USA. He is the Lead Clinician Surveyor for the American Accreditation Commission International, USA for India. He is an Assessor for National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Health care providers (NABH), India assessing hospitals for medication safety and clinical quality standards.

He has completed Fellowship in Healthcare Quality from International Society of Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) from Ireland. He is the first Indian doctor to be awarded the prestigious Lucian Leape Patient safety fellowship by ISQua for 2019. He has been conferred the Honorary Lecturer position at the Institute of Clinical Sciences, University of Birmingham, UK for his contribution to clinical research and healthcare quality.

He has number of publications to his credit and has also authored few chapters on "Regulations Governing Clinical Trial" and "Medication Safety" in the book "Fundamentals of Clinical Trial & Research". He has been awarded the U K Seth Oration Award for Best Clinical Pharmacology paper by the Indian Pharmacological Society in 2009. He has been awarded as the "Most promising Healthcare Professional in Patient Safety" by the Asian African Chamber of Commerce and Industry in October, 2018. He has been awarded the Young Quality Achiever award by Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations, India for 2019. He has been invited as a Subject expert in Pharmacology in the WHO sponsored MBBS/MD/DM curriculum National review meeting. He is the peer reviewer for international journals like British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology & CNS Drugs. He is a former visiting faculty and examiner for the Clinical Research & Pharmacovigilance certificate course at Jadavpur University, India.

He worked at Stanford University School of Medicine, USA as a Senior Clinical Research Associate from 2015 to 2017 and participated in device trials for FDA submission. He worked in the Patient safety and Risk Management Unit of the World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva as a volunteer staff as part of the Lucian Leape Patient safety fellowship award in 2019. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA in 2022.

He is the only Editorial board member of Drug Safety Journal (Official journal of International society of Pharmacovigilance) from India.

Recently, he has been nominated to the five member panel working on developing the Medication safety framework in India by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

He is a Consultant, Digital Health Programs at MAKAUT, West Bengal, which is the state Technology University. Currently; he is the Professor of Pharmacology at KPC Medical College, Kolkata and Clinical Director for Clinical Research at Peerless Hospital and B K Roy Research Centre, Kolkata.

Rajiv has built and sold multiple products in healthcare and life science space in addition to servicing large government and commercial clients. His work has primarily focused on products supporting EMR/EHR, healthcare exchanges, ACO and value based care, big data and associated analytics, clinical trials, and patient/member centric solutions.

Rajiv has been responsible for setting up large scale distributed development teams for some of the top consulting and services organizations. He is a member of industry leading consortia such as HL7, Pistoia Alliance etc. He has been published many times over for topics such as ICD10, healthcare exchanges, RWE based analytics etc. He writes a regular blog in a leading health industry publication and is known as a thought leader on analytics driven approach for solving regulatory and therapeutic problems.

Relevant Experience
Rajiv designed and developed the healthcare exchange for 6 states, including the widely successful KY and DC exchanges. The exchanges used clinical data integration to facilitate better selection for un-initiated consumers. Enrollments have exceeded the CMS anticipation in multiple states.

Rajiv designed and developed a clinical rule driven ICD9-10 crosswalk that was used by multiple payer and provider fortune 500 clients. Some of the highlights of the package included reduction in ICD10 readiness cost by up to 40% from traditional methods, accuracy of transformation increased by almost 300% and significant cost savings on ongoing operational costs.

Rajiv designed and built an analytical platform to manage the value based aspect of care delivery. The product was built in conjunction with a large ACO collaborative and has been implemented for multiple provider clients in North East region, leading to significant reduction in cost of care for chronic conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes and Oncology.

Rajiv designed and built a RWE based analytical platform that leverages highly innovative clinical modeling algorithms as well as brings in best practices from various industry leaders in the space, in order to provide deep insights into comparative effectiveness, health outcome of interests and patient journey on temporal basis. The product has helped some leading pharmaceutical companies to enhance their product management operations significantly while reducing marketing and research costs at the same time.

Rajiv designed and built a patient management system for an OPEC country that allowed them to automate their citizen's international medical treatment process completely. Integrating that with a robust AI based provider selection algorithm, the system was able to reduce the cost of patient care and management by more than 30%. In addition the reduced lead time and faster response lead to significant improvement in health outcomes.

Rajiv designed and built a practice management software that allowed the small provider practices to improve their capacity management significantly, improve claim collection by 12% on an average, and reduce drug-reaction mistakes by a significant percentage.

Dr. Shanta Dutta, the Director & Sc G, ICMR-National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases, has more than 30 years of research experience in the field of Gatro-intestinal infectious diseases. She is a Medical Graduate (Calcutta Univ), did her Post graduation under Mangalore University and Ph.D. Under Kyushu University, Japan under prestigious RONPAKU Fellowship of JSPS (Japan Society for Promotion of Science). She focuses on basic, operational and implementation research on enteric disease, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the transmission dynamics. She participated in the clinical and vaccine efficacy trials against typhoid, cholera and covid 19 and also in the burden estimation of various enteric diseases. In view of the emergence of resistant organisms she explores validation of antibacterial activity of medicinal plant extracts, which leads to new herbal formulations effective against resistant bacteria. As a public health service provider, she participated in investigations of several disease outbreaks all over India Participated in national/ international (WHO) meetings/ conferences as an expert/ invited speaker and deliberated views on practices and policies on contemporary health issues; Actively involved in guiding/training teaching of post graduate/ Ph.D. students to accomplish their dissertations and to publish research outcomes in high impact journals. She has published more than 300 research articles including book chapters and review papers. Her immense contribution in the field of medical research has been recognized by various scientific bodies with the awards and fellowships.

As the Director of NICED, she spearheads and coordinates the major research programs of the institute, fosters national and international research collaborations, and actively participated in drafting need-based health documents as requested time to time from Govt. agencies. Under her able leadership NICED has achieved recognitions especially during the covid pandemic. NICED was in the forefront for testing the samples for Covid 19 and training the health professionals and technical staff of Govt and non Govt organizations, so that they become independent in Covid 19 testing and maintained the QC/QA of all the labs in West Bengal.

Prof. (Dr.) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay is currently the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata from January 2020 onwards and was the Founder Vice Chancellor of Amity University Kolkata from 2015-2019. Prof. Chattopadhyay was the Dean, Faculty of Science at the University of Calcutta from 2003 to 2007. He was the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Calcutta on 2008 till 2015. He was also the Director at the Centre for Research in Nano Science and Nano Technology at the University from 2007 till 2015.

He graduated as a Bachelor in Science from the Presidency College, Kolkata with a major in Chemistry. Prof. Chattopadhyay did his Masters in Science in Bio-Chemistry and completed his PhD from Bose Institute Calcutta, Department of Bio-Chemistry at Bose Institute, Calcutta.

Prof. Chattopadhyay has a research experience of more than 37 years. During his research career he had visited numerous places in India and abroad. Dr. Chattopadhyay had been to Roche Institute of Molecular Biology in New Jersey, USA as a visiting Post-doctoral Fellow, A Visiting Project Scientist in Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland Ohio, USA, Stowers Research Institute, Kansas City, USA, University of Texas, Houston, Austin & Galveston Campuses USA, Nihon University, Hosei University, Okayama University in Japan. He also visited Research Institutes and Universities in South Korea, Taiwan, Republic of China, Malaysia and Thailand.

He is also the recipient of numerous awards, accolades and distinctions which includes The Young Scientist award in 1989, Member of Guha Research Conference in 1992, Professor Umakant Sinha Memorial Award in 1992, Fellow of the National Academy of Science in 1998, He received the prestigious UNESCO-IUMS-MIRCENS-SGM fellowship to carry out research under the department of Bio-chemistry at the University of Texas. He was the Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences in 2004, Fellow of West Bengal Academy of Science and Technology in 2006 to name a few. Dr. Chattopadhyay has life time memberships in various Organistions and Scientific Associations like Indian Science Congress Association, Member of the Asiatic Society, Member of Biotechnology Society, Member of Virological Society and so on.

Above all these, Prof. Chattopadhyay is a wonderful teacher. He has a teaching experience of more than 41 years during which a lot many students have completed their PhD’s successfully under his able guidance and has brought fame and glory to themselves as well as to the country. 35 students obtained their PhD under his direct and joint supervision during their PhD programme. He has around 134 research papers, 9 book chapters and 2 patents to his credit till date.

Dr. Debasish Dutta

Dr. Debasish Dutta has completed graduation in mechanical engineering. After completion of graduation and brief stint in software industry went to IIM Ahmedabad for pursuing PGDM. He completed his Ph.D focusing on Rural Financial Risk Assessment and Entrepreneurship Development from Delhi University. He is dedicated to MSME Rural Cluster development through Financial Risk Assessment and application of Operations Management for robust modelling. He has completed several consultancy works as GRSE, Aliah University CoE (Centre of Excellence), set up, HAL etc.. He has created 5000+ online study material units at NDLI. Recently he has completed Mission Amrit Sarovar-Jal Dhorohar Sanrakshan, sponsored by PMO the dream project of Hon'ble PM.
