The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an Interactive Session with Mr. James C.F. Huang, Chairman, Taiwan External Trade Development Council and former Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Taiwan on 24th January 2018 in the Chamber Premises.
The objective of the session was to discuss about the possible areas of collaboration and business opportunities between West Bengal and Taiwan.
Mr. Huang was accompanied by Mr. Ho-Ching Huang, Vice Chairman, Dairen Chemical Corporation (DCC); Mr. Michael Lin, Director, Taipei World Trade Center Liason Office in Mumbai; Mr. George Lin, Director, Taipei World Trade Center, Liaison Office in Kolkata and Mr. Kyle Chiu, Special Assistant to Chairman, General Administration Department, Taiwan External Trade Development Council.
Mr. Indrajit Sen, President Designate, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Deb A Mukherjee, Vice President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr Aloke Mookherjea, Past President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta, Past President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Arun Kumar Mukherjee, Chairperson Emeritus, Energy and Environment Committee, The Bengal Chamber; Mr. R N Lahiri, Chairperson Emeritus, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber; Mr. A. B. Guha, Sr. General Manager, Marine Container Services (I) P. Ltd. and Mr. Ashok Mukherjee, Managing Director, Sonodyne were also present at the meeting.
Mr. Huang shared his objectives of visiting Kolkata. He emphasized that there was lack of information about West Bengal amongst the business fraternity in Taiwan. His principal interest for this trip was to understand the business dynamics in this part of the country and identify the synergies. There was a positive feedback of taking the relationship forward by engaging in preparation of reports, organizing delegations and other possible collaborations.
