The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry partnered with SAP in organizing an event themed “Technology – Your Partner for Growth in the GST Economy”, at The Lalit Great Eastern on 1st September 2017.

Mr. T.B. Chatterjee, Chairperson, Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber & Chief Corporate Officer, Legal and Corporate Affairs, DIC India Limited was the Keynote Speaker on GST. Mr. Brijesh Ranawat, Sr. Manager, SAP India addressed the Session on ‘Winning in the GST Economy & Technology as an imperative for a GST ready business’.

A major paradigm shift in the way organizations are doing business is changing with the introduction of GST Bill from 1st of July. GST would lead to increased simplification of the tax levy and administration, and increased transparency, which will enable wide compliance aiming to unify the country as a single market. Thus it becomes imperative for organizations to comply with GST norms to thrive in this economy.

The first step towards businesses ready for GST is to assess IT infrastructure and prepare for this massive rollout. Experts believe that a strong technology backbone is imperative for the successful rollout of GST. In this context, the programme was organized.
