The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and KPMG India organized the Post-Budget Analysis Session ‘Union Budget 2018-19: An In-depth Analysis’ on 2nd February 2018 at The Oberoi Grand. Welcome Address was given by Mr. T. B. Chatterjee, Chairperson - Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Narayanan Ramaswamy, Partner, KPMG Advisory Services Private Limited delivered the Opening Remarks of behalf of KPMG.
Prof. Anup Kumar Sinha, Director, Heritage Business School and Former Professor of Economics of IIMC commented on the economic perspectives of Budget 2018-19. This was followed by experts’ comments on implications of the Budget on Direct & Indirect Taxes respectively by KPMG team - Mr. Tapan Gupta, Partner, Direct Tax, B S R & Co. LLP and Mr. Sanjay Garg, Partner, Indirect Tax, KPMG.
The session on economic perspectives and taxation was followed by a Panel Discussion on Industry perspectives of the Budget 2018-19 covering Financial Services, Metal & Mining and Healthcare. The panelists were Mr. Narayanan Ramaswamy, Partner, KPMG Advisory Services Private Limited, Mr. Deep Jaggi, Director, KPMG and Mr. Rupak Barua, Group CEO, AMRI Hospitals.
The Post Budget Analysis Session was concluded with lunch. The programme was attended by close to 250 delegates.
