- Session on Emerging Risks for Business in 2018 and the New COSO ERM Framework, 20th February, The Bengal Club, Kolkata.
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Protiviti organized a Session on Emerging Risks for Business in 2018 and the New COSO ERM Framework on Tuesday, 20th February 2018, The Bengal Club, Kolkata.
Mr Robert (Bob) Hirth, Immediate Past COSO Chairman shared his experience and insights into these emerging risks and provided an overview of the new COSO ERM Framework with its importance in strategic and operational planning. The angst among the corporate and political leaders, board members, and the executives around unknown risks have never been more heightened than at present. This has been exacerbated by rapid technological changes, emergence of crypto currencies, and promulgation of new global regulations such as GDPR, proliferation of cybercrime, environmental pollution, global warming and so on. How do governments, economists, corporates and society at large deal with such disruptions? Can these all be strategized? What role does enterprise risk management (ERM) play? The new ERM COSO Framework 2017 provides a structure and guidance in addressing the challenges that are baffling the corporates and the business leaders.
The session was well attended by corporates and was concluded by Mr B B Chatterjee, Senior Vice President, The Bengal Chamber.
