The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) has also worked on a proposal for a research project on the economic impact assessment of the proposed Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) on the State of West Bengal. The project will be illustrating the prospects of Bengal in the context of the various macro-economic and bilateral, multi-lateral and regional trade co-operations that are envisioned under RCEP and which eventually can be leveraged for the economic growth of the state and the region, especially in the context of their strategic location as a gateway to South East and East Asia. It will also explore the implication of regional connectivity corridors and regional partnerships being developed by India with Southeast and East Asian countries on Bengal.
