- SCIENCE CIRCLE LECTURE ON ADVANCED MANUFACTURING THROUGH THE CONVERGENCE OF MICRO AND NANOTECHNOLOGIES, 1ST OCTOBER 2016, THE CHAMBER PREMISES
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I)
partnering the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT,
Kharagpur) and the Consulate General of the Federal Republic
of Germany, Kolkata organized a Science Circle Lecture on
“Advanced Manufacturing through the Convergence of Micro
and Nano Technologies” on 1st October, 2016 at the Chamber
premises. The programme was organized for industry
professionals focusing on micro and nanotechnology and its
convergence in the context of advanced manufacturing.
Prof. (Dr) Hans Jorg Fecht, Chair Professor and Director, Institute
of Micro and Nanomaterial, Ulm University, Germany; Office
Director, EUREKA Cluster Metallurgy, Europe & Senior Scientist,
Institute of Nanotechnology, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
(holding Adjunct Professor Positions in China, India and Japan)
was the Keynote Speaker of the programme.
The programme was moderated by Mr. Debkumar Basu,
Chairperson, Manufacturing Committee, The Bengal Chamber.
The other eminent speakers present were Mr. Olaf Iversen,
Consul General, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of
Germany, Prof (Dr) Siddhartha Das, Member, Manufacturing
Committee, The Bengal Chamber and Professor, Department
of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Executive
Adviser, Science and Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park (STEP),
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Mr. Sutanu
Ghosh, President, The Bengal Chamber.
The niche programme brought together more than 100
participants drawn from manufacturing, engineering and
services sectors.
