• INTERACTIVE SESSION ON 'BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE REALM OF IT BETWEEN WEST BENGAL AND RUSSIA', 28TH SEPTEMBER 2016, AT GORKY SADAN, KOLKATA

    • The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and The Consulate General of the Russian Federation jointly organized an Interactive Session on ‘Business Opportunities in the realm of IT between West Bengal and Russia” on 28th September 2016 from 3.00 p.m. onwards (IST) in Gorky Sadan - Russian Cultural Centre for Kolkata, 3 Gorky Terrace, Kolkata 17. The programme was streamed live between Kolkata and Russia.

    A few months back, The Chamber had successfully organized a similar forum of Indo-Russian Business Dialogue to explore opportunities of Indo-Russian Business in the East. During the session, two key sectors emerged viz, Health and IT, in which closer bilateral business ties were possible. The Chamber, therefore, felt the need of organizing another Interactive Session with a more focused approach specializing in IT and IT Applications.

    The Russian side was represented by companies such as:

    7. “Angels IT Group” - medical information systems

    The discussions took place over video conferencing between Kolkata and Moscow, where the participants shared their individual as well as Company profile and explored opportunities in the realms of IT and IT allied services. Some of the elements of IT and IT related services like Analytics, IOT, medical informatics, Dot Net etc. were discussed where the aim was to develop an ecosystem for cooperation among the two countries and their businesses. Another interesting aspect which came out of the interactions was about certain Mobile Applications, the technology aspect of which has already been developed by one of the participants from the Russian side. The Indian counterpart was willing to explore whether the same can be made available in Indian Languages.

    The Russian representatives also invited the delegates and also the BCC&I IT Fraternity to pay a visit to Voronezh sometime soon to explore more on mutually beneficial collaborative arrangements
