- INDIA MEETS TUSCANY: BUSINESS SUMMIT, 8TH NOVEMBER 2016, FLORENCE
Confindustria Industrie, in association with the Indian Embassy, Rome, organized a business meet between India & Tuscany in Florence, with a specific focus on Business collaborations in Fashion, Mechanical Engineering & Life Sciences sectors.
The MSME Department, Government of West Bengal, presented West Bengal as a possible Investment destination. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajiva Sinha, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME & Textiles, Government of West Bengal spoke on West Bengal’s inherent locational advantages, and highlighted the many investment opportunities present in WB which could be of interest to Italian Companies. Dr. Sinha highlighted the inherent advantages that West Bengal offered to potential investors particularly in the areas of Urban Infrastructure, IT (both Hardware & Software), ITeS, Maritime as well as MSMEs. Dr. Sinha also elaborated on the key initiatives of the State Government with special emphasis on e-Governance, the Simplified Tax Regime in the State, Industrial Promotion Initiatives of the State, Single Window clearance systems, etc. He requested Italian companies to look seriously at West Bengal, and requested all present to be a part of the forthcoming Bengal Global Business Summit 2017.
The Bengal Chamber was also a part of this programme, and took active part in the deliberations with some Italian companies with special interests in the Manufacturing domain.
