The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an interactive session on TURNING PROBLEMS INTO BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES on 23rd December 2016 at Tata Steel Room, The Chamber Premises. The interactive session was designed by Dr Brett Anitra Gilbert (Ph.D.) who is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Department of Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School (Newark and New Brunswick, NJ, USA).

The session was designed for the benefit of entrepreneurs and ultimately to advance Kolkata's entrepreneurial ecosystem. The session commenced with the Welcome Address by Mr Abhijit Hazra, Managing Director, Touchstone Tie-up Pvt Ltd and Chairperson, The Entrepreneurs’ Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dr Gilbert in her session told the participants that Entrepreneurs are the world's best problem solvers. From recognizing a need in the marketplace to building an effective solution to solve it, entrepreneurs better society in many significant ways. The session provided time for the participants to discuss problems and opportunities with other aspiring and committed entrepreneurs, and to brainstorm effective solutions.

Through this session the participants learned about creative thinking and various ways that they can identify, build and implement effective solutions for problems they would like to see solved.

At the end of session a small token of appreciation in the form of a memento was presented to the faculty by Mr Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group and Chairperson – Entrepreneurs’ Business Forum, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
