The first edition of The India International Mega Trade Fair
(IIMTF) at Vizag was inaugurated by Shri Venkaiah Naidu,
Hon’ble Union Minister For Urban Development and
Information & Broadcasting, Government of India and Smt.
Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce
& Industry, Government of India on 23rd September 2016.
The opening ceremony was attended by the dignitaries of
the Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the
Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry. A joint venture
of these two Chambers and organized by G. S. Marketing
Associates, the Fair has a huge scope for increasing business
opportunities in this region through increased awareness,
sales, networking and the volume of matured business.
In his inaugural speech, Shri Venkaiah Naidu appreciated
the efforts that had gone into the organizing of this Fair.
While stressing on the need for more such international
exhibitions and conventions, he elaborated on the many
schemes and policies of the Central Government to
streamline and simplify business practices in India under
the able guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri.
Narendra Modi.
Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman was happy to note that several
foreign countries were participating in this Fair. She was
hopeful of the establishment of newer businesses in the
port city of Visakhapatnam through the business activities
conducted at the Fair.
This Fair was all about an exhibition and sale of the products
of Indian Companies, Foreign Companies, MSMEs, NSIC,
National Jute Board, KVIC, EPCH, Government Departments,
PSUs, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Furniture, Electronics,
Lifestyle, Interiors, Health, Beauty, Food etc.
Notable to mention was the immense presence of the
Electronics industry in this Fair. With more than 2 pavilions,
this industry was very well represented at the Fair. Many of
the Electronics brands participated through Sowndarya,
which is a leading Electronics Showroom in AP.
