- UNION BUDGET 2017-18: AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS, 2ND FEBRUARY 2017, CHAMBER PREMISES
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and KPMG India organized the Post-Budget analysis session, ‘Union Budget 2017-18: An In-depth Analysis’ on 2nd February 2017 at the Chamber premises. The Welcome Address was given by Mr Sutanu Ghosh, President, BCC&I.
The Welcome Address was followed by experts’ comments on implications of the Budget on Direct & Indirect Taxes respectively by the KPMG team of expert speakers - Mr. Rahul Mitra, Senior Tax Partner and National Head - Transfer Pricing & BEPS, KPMG in India; Mr. Aditya Hans, Partner – Tax & Regulatory, BSR & Co LLP and Mr. Rajarshi Dasgupta, Associate Director - Indirect Tax, KPMG in India.
The session on taxation was followed by a Panel Discussion on economic perspective of Budget 2017-18 with the economists who all addressed on the overall economic impact of the Budget. The Panel Discussion was chaired by Shri C S Ghosh, President Designate, BCC&I & Managing Director & CEO, Bandhan Bank Ltd. Other panelists were Prof Siddhartha Mitra, Professor and Coordinator, Centre for Advanced Studies, Department of Economics, Jadavpur University and Prof Abhirup Sarkar of Indian Statistical Institute. The Panel Discussion and the Session concluded with the deliberations by Shri C S Ghosh, President Designate, BCC&I & Managing Director & CEO, Bandhan Bank Ltd on industry perspectives.
The Post Budget Analysis Session was concluded with networking cocktails and dinner. The session was attended by more than 200 delegates.
