The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the Union Budget 2017-18 Viewing Session on 1st February 2017 in the ITC Room of the Chamber. Mr Sutanu Ghosh, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry & Managing Director, Ghosh, Bose & Associates Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. C. S. Ghosh, President Designate, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Managing Director & CEO, Bandhan Bank Ltd; Shri Sunil Mitra, Chairperson – Economic Affairs Committee, BCC&I & Former Revenue and Finance Secretary, Government of India; Mr. T.B. Chatterjee, Chairperson – Indirect Tax Committee, BCC&I and Chief Corporate Officer, Legal and Corporate Affairs, DIC India Limited; Mr. S. Radhakrishnan, Past President; Dr. Abhijit Sen, Past President and Mr. P S Bhattacharyya, Former Chairman, Coal India Limited were present. Members from the Managing Committee, Direct Taxes Committee and Indirect Taxes Committees also attended the Session. The Budget Viewing Session was followed by an analysis of the budget and media interactions. The Chamber’s reaction to the Budget was televised in the media and reported in the print media the next day.
