The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with DTDC limited organized a panel discussion on “The Convergence of Sports and Entertainment” on 2nd April 2016 in the Chamber premises.

The panelists of the session included luminaries like Mr. Sourav Ganguly, legendary cricketer and former captain of Indian Cricket Team and currently the CAB President, Mr. Ian Bishop, former West Indian Fast Bowler and presently commentator and Mr. Deep Dasgupta, former Wicket Keeper Batsman of the Indian Cricket team and a commentator at present. The Panel was moderated by Prof Boria Majumder, sports journalist, author, commentator and also a cricket historian. Mr. Abhishek Bachchan, Actor, who was also scheduled to be present, sent a short audio message since he could not fly to Kolkata due to illness.

The session focused on perspectives on the evolution of sports business which provides an excellent roadmap to maximizing the benefits and minimizing the pitfalls that arise at the intersection of sports and entertainment. The programme being held on the eve of the T20 Cricket World Cup Final at the Eden Gardens, invariably covered a lot of cricket discussions. The 300 plus strong audience was left mesmerized by the anecdotes shared by the cricketers.
