An investigative study of 290 tea estates of Dooars and Terai in North Bengal. The study shows serious socio-economic issues of the tea garden areas which are either closed or are in a dysfunctional state. This was only the first stage of the study. The next stage will be about how the issues of economic degeneration could be resolved. Also the economic, business and marketing aspects of tea growing, production and sales would be addressed in the next stage.
