The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I), partnering National Productivity Council (NPC), celebrated the National Productivity Week with the theme “Ease of Doing Business for Higher Productivity and Sustainable Growth” on 17th February 2016 at BCC&I, Kolkata. The National Productivity Week Celebration is a significant event for BCC&I and NPC and it is celebrated every year between 12th -18th February.

The inaugural session was presided over by Mr Subhodip Ghosh, Director General Designate, BCC&I. Mr. Ghosh delivered the Welcome Speech. Besides, there were other senior inaugural speakers like Mr A. K. Sinha, Regional Director, National Productivity Council, Kolkata; Mr. R.K.Chakraborty, President - HR & Corporate Affairs, Shyam Group of Industries; Smt R. Alice Vaz, IAS, Director, Directorate of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs),Government of West Bengal and Mr Debkumar Basu, Co – Chairperson, Manufacturing Committee, BCC&I and Director, ZETADEL Technologies P. Ltd. who concluded the inaugural session by delivering the Vote of Thanks.

Besides, there was a panel discussion on the theme of the programme and it was chaired by Mr. Debkumar Basu. The panel comprised of eminent panelists from industry (comprising of large corporates and MSMEs), academia, experts, etc and they were Dr. Goutam Sengupta, Director, Videocon Infinity Infrastructure Pvt.
