The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Eastern Indian Regional Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) celebrated the World CSR Day on 18th Feb 2016 at Globsyn Hall at the Chamber Premises.
The Bengal Chamber joined hands with the premier Corporate Governance Institute of India to celebrate the World CSR Day not only because CSR had become mandatory by law but also because of the Government’s thrust on CSR activities. Professionals and representatives from Corporates attended the event with full enthusiasm and participation.
This event was organized under the guidance of Chairman of the Legal Committee of BCC&I, Adv DN Mittra and EIRC-ICSI Chairman, CS Sandip Kejriwal. EIRC-ICSI Vice Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Legal Committee of BCC&I, CS Siddhartha Murarka played a pivotal role in not only organizing the event but he was also speaker for the 1st Technical Session where he delivered into legal provisions relating to CSR. CA Sandip Pitty, National Jt. Treasurer of renowned NGO “Friends of Tribal Society” was the speaker for the 2nd Technical Session where he discussed taxation & accounting related complexities and also practical aspects of implementation of CSR activities and challenges therein. Advocate Paritosh Sinha, Member, Legal Committee of the Bengal Chamber conducted the open house and thanked the sponsors and EIRC-ICSI on behalf of the Chamber. CS Gautam Dugar, Secretary - EIRC-ICSI gave a formal vote of thanks on behalf of ICSI.
