Mr. Sutanu Ghosh, President Designate, along with Mr. Subhodip Ghosh, Director General Designate and Ms. Angana Guha Roy Chowdhury, Assistant Director visited Chittagong from 30th January 2016 to 1st February 2016 to attend the Centenary Celebration of The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The programme on 30th January was graced by Sheikh Hasina, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The first-ever World Trade Center (WTC) in Bangladesh was also inaugurated by her during this programme. The programme was held at the WTC, Chittagong.
Mr. Sutanu Ghosh, President Designate was invited to join the Panel Discussion on “Bay of Bengal Growth Triangle and the Southern Silk Route – Completing Vision 2021” on 31st January 2015 in Radisson Blu, Chittagong. He was the only representative from India in the Panel. The other Panelists were H.E. Benoît-Pierre Laramée, High Commissioner of Canada; Mr. Oleg Tonkonojenkov, Deputy Country Director, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Bangladesh; Mr. Hitoshi Ara, Senior Representative, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmed, President, The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI); Mr. Md. Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), First Vice President, FBCCI and Mr. Abrar A. Anwar, CEO, Standard Chartered Bangladesh. Mr. Salahuddin Kasem Khan, Managing Director & CEO, A.K. Khan & Co. Ltd. and President, Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF) was the Keynote Speaker. Mr. A.H.M. Mostafa Kamal, Minister for Planning, Government of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest.
There was International Tourism Summit held in Arannok Cottage in Rangamati, Chittagong on 1st February 2016. Mr. Sutanu Ghosh shared his thoughts on Bangladesh - its economic development in the context of tourism development opportunities. He also expressed his gratitude to The Chittagong Chamber for inviting The Bengal Chamber to this programme. Mr. Shajahan Khan, Hon’ble Shipping Minister of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest. Mr. AJM Nasiruddin, Mayor, Chittagong City Corporation was also present.
The programmes were also graced by Mr. MA Latif, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Former President, The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also Mr. Mahbubul Alam, President, The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. Sutanu Ghosh mentioned that The Bengal Chamber would be delighted to work together with The Chittagong Chamber towards enhancing B2B linkages between Bangladesh and Eastern and North Eastern India.
