The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an exclusive session titled “Vedantic Approach to Effective Leadership – a 21st Century Toolkit” on 21st July 2016 at Hotel Treebo Platinum, Salt Lake, Kolkata. Guest faculty of the session was Shri. L Ramaswamy (Chief Events Coordinator of Vedanta Institute Kolkata & member of MENSA, an international society of high IQ people).
The session was meant for CEOs, Senior Managers, HR heads, of corporates who are involved with strategic decision making in an organization. The objective was to understand human composition, to control one’s ego, to learn to deal with corruption, to maintain proper relation with wealth.
Some of the participants were Mr. Abhijit Hazra (Managing Director – Touchstone Tie-Up Pvt. Ltd. and Chairperson – The Friends of IT Committee – The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Ms. Nabonita Bose Mukherjee (Founder and Principal – Bubble Blue ) Ms. Nilanjana Chaudhuri (CEO – Peers Symantech) Mr. N Ramakrishnan (Founder - Edextra) among others.
This hands-on session addressed the following points:-
● The three components of management.● Manifestation of ego.
● Nature of human mind.● Self-management = Intellect > Mind.
● Aggressive vs. Passive Actions.● Modification of Desire.
Shri L Ramaswamy also explained how effective management required personnel with ethical and moral values ingrained in them. These values were founded on selflessness. An unselfish approach would require a high and noble ideal to follow. Such an ideal was based on service and sacrifice at the physical level, feeling of love and friendship at the emotional level and thought of a charitable disposition and accommodation at the intellectual level.
