The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and KPMG India organized the post-budget analysis session ‘Union Budget 2016-17: An In-depth Analysis’ on 1st March, 2016 at The Oberoi Grand. Welcome Address was given by Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta, President, BCC&I and Partner and Head Management Consulting & Eastern Regional Leader, KPMG. Shri Sunil Mitra, Chairperson – Economic Affairs Committee, BCC&I & Former Revenue and Finance Secretary, Government of India presided over the opening session and discussed economic perspectives on Budget 2016-17. Mr. Rahul Mitra, Partner and National Head, BEPS & Tax Dispute Resolution, KPMG and Mr. Sanjay Garg, Partner, Indirect Tax, KPMG deliberated on implications on Direct Taxes and Indirect Taxes respectively.
The Opening Session was followed by a Panel Discussion with experts from the Industry who all addressed on the overall economic impact and also from the perspective of their respective areas of interest. The Panel Discussion was chaired by Shri Sunil Mitra. Other panelists were Mr. Saugata Bhattacharya, Chief Economist, Axis Bank, Mr. Sanjiv Paul, Managing Director, Tata Metaliks Limited, Mr. Sushil Mohta, Chairman, CREDAI Bengal and Managing Director, Merlin Projects Limited and Mr. Satyabrata Mukherjee, CEO, Ambrosia Enterprise Pvt. Ltd.
There was also a Q/A session with the audience. The Panel Discussion was followed by networking lunch. The Post Budget analysis session was attended by more than 250 delegates.
