The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) organized the 2nd Stakeholders’ Meeting on Samriddhi-Kalyani Analytics City on 13th October 2015 in the Chamber with Credai Bengal.
The Meeting was addressed by:
• Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry
• Mr. Sushil Mohta, President, Credai Bengal
• Mr. Harsh Vardhan Patodia, Vice President, Credai (National)
• Mr. Dulal Mukherjee, Proprietor, Dulal Mukherjee and Associates and Managing Committee Member, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry
• Ms. Debjani Dutta, Joint Managing Director, WBHIDCO Ltd
Credai Bengal was invited to this meeting with the objective of seeking their expert opinion from the perspective of the developers. Mr. Sushil Mohta mentioned that there was prospect for a project like this. Mr. Harsh Vardhan Patodia shared the under mentioned observations:
• A Letter of Interest/Expression of Interest from an anchor organization would give confidence to the investors.
• Social DNA of Kalyani like AIIMS and other institutions would provide a positive impact.
• Cost of operations might be included in the bid document.
• Credai Bengal would like to present the concept to the members pan India after the RFQ is available.
• Tax benefit for the occupants in the city would also encourage more organizations to join.
• The time limit of 6 months’ of possession was requested to be extended as the project would require a number of clearances.
It was also mentioned by the stakeholders present that the Definition and Scope of ‘Analytics’ should to be included in the bid document.
Ms. Debjani Dutta shared a video of the Government of West Bengal on the 6 theme based cities. Ms Dutta also made a presentation on:
• Project USP
• Township Policy
• Project Structuring Features
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry has discussed the concept with major stakeholders both in domestic and international markets and has received a most encouraging response.
The concept was launched in The Bengal Chamber’s Business Analytics Innovation Summit on 10th December 2014 in Taj Bengal, Kolkata. Dr. R Seetharaman, Group CEO, Doha Bank visited Kolkata on 10th and 11th July for a programme Doha Bank co-hosted with The Bengal Chamber. He was also very enthused to hear about the concept and consented in-principle to provide financial assistance to a project like this.
