A meet and greet session with the media for the new Office Bearers of the Chamber following the Chamber AGM in September doubled up as an occasion to exchange Bijoya and Diwali Greetings and also for sharing the Chamber’s vision and focus areas for the year.
The newly elected President of the Chamber, Dr. Alok Roy, President Designate Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta and Vice President Mr. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh were present. Senior Vice President, Mr. Sutanu Ghosh was unable to attend the Press Conference as he had to travel on an urgent business call. Mr. P Roy, Director General of the Chamber was also present.
The Office Bearers and the Director General highlighted the various focus areas of the Chamber and answered specific queries from the media on the Chamber’s work vis-à-vis the current economic realities. The specific focus areas of MSMEs, Analytics, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Development were discussed in details including the role of PE firms and fund raising / VC funding for start-ups in West Bengal. The focus on catalyzing MSME growth, creating the relevant forum for entrepreneurs and creating a brand for Kolkata as an Analytics Hub was discussed with the media.
