- One-day Workshop on Incoterms 2010 and Marine Cargo Insurance, 16th September 2014, Chamber premises
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a one day workshop on “Incoterms 2010 & Marine Cargo Insurance” on 16th September 2014 in the Chamber premises.
The programme was organized to offer an insight into the terms of shipment, i.e., Incoterms Rules 2010 of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris (ICC), the key issues related to Marine Insurance Act 1963 and the Institute Cargo Clauses A, B, C. This programme in future would assist a participant in selecting the most appropriate term of shipment, understand the specific responsibilities of the buyer and the seller, clarify who should pay for what, and what are the minimum obligations of the parties concerned. The critical issue of risk management ran as a common thread through the day’s deliberations.
The participants were exporters, importers and corporate entities involved in international trade and executives-in-charge & finance heads of firms dealing with export and import.
Mr. Rupnarayan Bose who was the faculty of this training programme is the former Managing Director of Fina Bank Ltd., Nairobi, Managing Director of TransAfrica Bank, Kampala, and GM, Treasury and International Banking, Diamond Trust Bank, Nairobi, Kenya. Earlier, he was with the State Bank Group for 18 years, working in various capacities including as head of Trade Finance, International Banking and Treasury.
