The Indirect Taxes Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a Seminar on Goods and Services Tax on 18th June 2015 in the Chamber. Shri Partha Roy Choudhury, Commissioner of Service Tax, Kolkata graced the inaugural session. The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. T B Chatterjee, Chairperson, Indirect Taxes Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Chief Corporate Officer, Legal and Corporate Affairs, DIC India Ltd. Special address on GST was given by Mr. Waman Parkhi, Senior Partner, KPMG.
The technical sessions of the Seminar covered the critical issues of GST like Preparedness for GST, New Amendments under the Finance Act, 2015, Cenvat Credit / Reverse Charge, Preventing litigation, Handling SCN, Penalties and Prosecution in Service Tax, Service Tax on Real Estate Transactions and Works Contract Service.
