The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized the fifth edition of its annual Sit n Draw Competition on 25th April 2015 in the Chamber. Over 700 children participated in the programme including under privileged children and children who are differently abled from Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy.
Shri Surajit Kar Purkayastha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata was the Chief Guest. He took a tour of the Chamber building and watched the children while they were drawing. The theme for this year was ‘Greening the Blue Earth’. It was organized on the occasions of World Environment Day and Earth Day on 5th June and 22nd April respectively, in keeping with our endeavour to instill a sense of consciousness and responsibility towards the environment amongst the younger generation.
