The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and KPMG, in association with Globsyn, organized the post-budget analysis session titled, “Union Budget 2015-16: An Intensive Analysis’ on 2nd March, 2015 at The Lalit Great Eastern. The opening remarks were made by Dr. Alok Roy, President, BCC&I & Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals. Shri Sunil Mitra, Chairperson – Economic Affairs Committee, BCC&I & Former Revenue and Finance Secretary, Government of India presided over the opening session and set up the theme for discussions. Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta, President Designate, BCC&I & Partner and Head Management Consulting & Eastern Regional Leader, KPMG and Dr. Subir Sen, Dean, Globsyn Business School addressed the audience on Union Budget – 2015-16. Shri Bishwajit Bhattacharyya, Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of India & Former Additional Solicitor General of India, a tax expert and a Budget analyst, deliberated on ‘Union Budget 2015-2016 – Analysis’ with facts and figures.
The technical session focusing on Banking and Taxation was chaired by Shri Sunil Mitra. Mr. Saugata Bhattacharya, Chief Economist, Axis Bank; Mr. Anish Mehta, Partner, Tax-CBT-CM-IM, KPMG and Mr. Sanjay Garg, Partner, Tax-Indirect, KPMG deliberated on implications on Banking & Finance, Direct Taxes and Indirect Taxes respectively. There was also a Q/A session with the audience. The programme was attended by more than 175 delegates.
