BCC&I along with AIRIA and Capexil organized an Indian Rubber Summit 2014 on 27th March 2014 at the Chamber premises. This was a seminar towards addressing the issues related to the Rubber Industry in the Eastern sector and also focused on issues supporting the need for a National Policy on Rubber. This was a first-of-its kind Summit for the Rubber Sector from any Chamber.

The seminar witnessed the participation of eminent industry players and included speakers like Mr. Sudipta Das, Advisory Partner, Climate Change and Sustainability Leader (India), Ernst & Young LLP; Dr. R Mukhopadhyay, Chairman, Indian Rubber Institute; Mr. Arindam Ghosh, Head-Industrial Clusters, IL&FS Cluster Development Initiative Limited; Mr. T K Mukerjee, Chairman, BCC&I Infrastructure and Skill Development Committees; Mr. Ramesh Kejriwal, Chairman, AIRIA-Eastern Region and Dr. Dhurjati Chaudhuri, Former Project Coordinator (NE), Rubber Research Institute of India, Rubber Board among others. The Opening Session focused on "Rubber as an industrial raw material: Opportunities and Challenges" and the following session focused on "A new trajectory for growth of rubber-made products: Vision 2020". Dr. Dhurjati Chaudhuri, Former Project Coordinator (NE), Rubber Research Institute of India, Rubber Board, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and delivered the Inaugural address.
