The Bengal Chamber organized a Summit on Inspiring Change on 8th March, International Women’s Day, 2014 in the Chamber premises as a tribute to the inspiring women leaders in the banking sector. This was a first-of-its kind programme in Kolkata dedicated to women bankers with all participants also being only women. The seminar witnessed participation of eminent women bankers like Ms. Mythili Krishnamurthy, Chief General Manager, Canara Bank; Ms. Kalpana Gupta, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank; Ms. Preeti Gupta, Assistant General Manager, Bharatiya Mahila Bank; and Ms. Papiya Ghosh, Deputy Vice President, Axis Bank among others.

This Opening Session focused on “Women in Decision Making in the Banking Sector” and the following session focused on "How pro-active and pro-women policies in the banking sector have enabled the women professionals as an instrumental factor for women empowerment". Professor Malabika Sarkar, Vice Chancellor, Presidency University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the Inaugural address.
