The Bengal Chamber Annual Sit n Draw for Children (Theme: Environment For A Better Kolkata), 26th April 2014, Chamber premises
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the fourth edition of its annual Sit n Draw Competition on Saturday, 26th April 2014 in the Chamber. The programme was sponsored by CESC Limited, International Combustion India Limited, Tata Metaliks Limited, Exide Industries Limited, Coca Cola India Limited (Soft Drink Partner), Mongrace Montessori House, Petroleum Conservation Research Association and The Palladian Lounge (Venue and Hospitality Partner). Thanks to such partners, the programme was most successful and was an occasion of colour and happiness in the 181 year-old institution that is the Chamber. More than 200 children, from various schools of Kolkata, aged between 5 years and 10 years (including underprivileged and special children) participated in the Sit n Draw. Shri Chuni Goswami, legendary sports icon, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms. Dola Banerjee, Olympian Archer was present as the Guest of Honour. They interacted with the children and presented the certificates of participation to all participating children.
The Chamber's objective was to imbibe in our children and future generations the importance of a sustainable natural environment, which will, in turn, help create a secure future for the generations to come. The theme therefore, was, "Environment for a Better Kolkata." Like last three years, all the drawings would be reviewed by a special panel of judges and the 80 best ones be awarded special certificates at the Bengal Chamber's flagship Environment and Energy Conclave on 29th and 30th August at the ITC Sonar.
