IDBI Bank presents The Bengal Chamber “Think…” Session in association with The Telegraph: Managing Growth in Challenging Times, by Mr. Sunil Alagh, 28th July 2014, The Palladian Lounge
In continuation of its tradition of hosting THINK Sessions to create a platform for dissemination of knowledge and promulgating contemporary business ideas with Society, The Bengal Chamber organized another THINK Session in association with IDBI Bank, The Telegraph, Calcutta Stock Exchange, Tata Teleservices, Air India and Anderson Printing with Mr. Sunil Alagh being the speaker.
Formerly the CMD of Britannia Industries, Mr. Alagh spoke on “Managing Growth in Challenging Business Times”. During his talk, Mr. Alagh spoke on how companies and organizations were getting more and more affected by global business trends, and on how global strategies were being incorporated by Indian companies to keep pace with the fast changing and challenging Business Environment. Mr. Alagh, during his speech, made it clear that the 5 main points for growth in Business today were (a) to embrace complexity and change, (b) to innovate, (c) recalibrate the brand, (d) be aware of opportunities in the digital domain and (e) people management.
Enumerating further, Mr. Alagh gave his views that for any Business to grow in these challenging times, one had to Empower the Employees (People Management), try and be Faster, Quicker and More reliable than Competition (Embracing Complexity and Change), be ready to Rethink, Refresh, Re Energize and ReInvent the Brand (Recalibrating the Brand) as well as be ready to Innovate through Pricing, Product attributes or through Value Relationships (Innovation).
