Post Budget Analysis Session - ‘Union Budget 2014-15: A Thorough Analysis’, 11th July 2014, Chamber premises
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, KPMG and Globsyn organized the post-budget analysis session, “Union Budget 2014-15: A Thorough Analysis” on 11th July 2014 in the Chamber premises. Shri Sunil Mitra, Chairperson – Economic Affairs Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry & Former Revenue and Finance Secretary, Government of India presided over the opening session.
Shri Bishwajit Bhattacharyya, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India, who is also a tax expert and a Budget analyst of great repute, was the Keynote Speaker and he spoke extensively on Union Budget 2014-2015 with an in-depth analysis supported by facts and figures.
Mr. Rakesh Dharawat, Partner, KPMG, and Mr. Sudipta Bhattacharjee, Director, KPMG, deliberated on implications on Direct Taxes and Indirect Taxes, respectively. Their presentations were followed by a Panel Discussion with experts from industry who all addressed on the overall economic impact and also from the perspectives of their respective areas of interest. The panel discussion was chaired by Shri Sunil Mitra. Other panelists were Mr. Aloke Mookherjea, Chairman, Solyvent Flakt (India) Private Limited; Mr Harsh Vardhan Patodia, President, CREDAI BENGAL; Mr. Harsh Sachdev, Managing Director, S&T Mining Company Private Limited and Mr. Rahul Dasgupta, Head, Globsyn Skills Ltd and Joint Managing Director, Globsyn Group.
There was also a question answer session with the audience. The Panel Discussion was followed by lunch. The session was attended by more than 175 delegates.
